Brænd Eriksen grew up in Lillehammer, where she taught herself to play the song “Do-Re-Mi” from The Sound of Music on the piano in a neighbour’s basement. Some of her first musical inspirations were Trond-Viggo Torgersen and Billy Joel.
She later joined the local Ten Sing and became a frequent performer at Lillehammer’s Felix rock café, introduced to alternative rock and punk. She earned a significant part in the NRK television drama series Det Tredje Tegnet when she was 21.
