Chris was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 5, 1967. He was taken to a Southern Baptist family. Talking about his education, he has completed his graduation from Germantown High school. From that school, he has completed his study of drama and auditioned for plays.
He had also performed in Poplar Pike Playhouse in his school days. In 1985, when he became an old student and a senior student of the school, he was voted as a “Most Talented”. Likewise, he gained his BFA in Drama in Winston-Salem from the University of North Carolina School of Arts.
After completing his graduation, he started performing with the Alley Theatre and the Berkshire Theatre. After that, he returned to his hometown and began teaching acting in his old school from where he learned acting.
